My Story
I am a proud mother of three wonderful sons. Even though they are growing older
and becoming more independent, I still cherish every moment of being a mom. My
love for motherhood remains strong, and I find immense joy in the unique bond I
share with my sons.
Professionally, I have dedicated 17 years to teaching. I began my teaching career in
December 2008, focusing on science and social studies for the first 10 years at an
intermediate school. During this time, I thoroughly enjoyed watching my students
engage in activities and experiments, which made teaching science particularly fun
for me. In recent years, I transitioned to teaching math, and while I enjoy it, I still
have fond memories of my time teaching science. My commitment to education and
my students is unwavering, and I strive to make a positive impact in their lives every
day.
Originally from South Carolina, I have been living in Houston, Texas, for the
past 17 years. This move has brought new experiences and opportunities,
both personally and professionally. Outside of work, I love spending
quality time with my family, especially on beach trips. I also have a
passion for discovering new and delicious foods, and it's wonderful
that my sons share my love for seafood. Balancing my roles as a mother
and a teacher brings me great fulfillment, and I am grateful for the joy
and purpose they bring to my life.

Total Quality Teacher
As part of my EDLD-5303 course at Lamar University, I created "Total Quality Teacher." This initiative stems from my long-standing desire to provide a space where teachers can come to relax, reset, and refresh. In our ever-changing field, feeling empowered is essential. Being a Total Quality Teacher means taking care of yourself professionally and being mindful of the steps needed to achieve success. This platform is also a place to share best practices and find inspiration. It's about fostering a supportive community where teachers can thrive together.
